BACKGROUND OF THE ROLE:
BlueCrest University Liberia is committed to ensuring that every student gets hands-on
knowledge before or after graduation, as such it is virtual to have an individual who will
ensure that the students meet this opportunity. A placement Officer’s role is cardinal in
connecting students with potential employers; therefore, specific reference had been made to
the below responsibilities:
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF A PLACEMENT OFFICER
STUDENTS’ GUIDANCE: providing career guidance, resume building, and interview preparation support to students.
BUILDING INSTITUTION’S CONNECTION: establishing and maintaining relationships with companies, agencies, ministries, and organizations to create job opportunities for students.
JOBS FAIRS AND EVENTS: organizing job fairs, campus recruitment drives, and other events to bring possible employers and students together.
CAREER COUNSELLING: offering professional career advice and helping students identify their strengths and interest.
EMPLOYER OUTREACH: reaching out to potential employers, understanding their hiring needs, and pitching the talents pool of students.
PLACEMENT PROCESS MANAGEMENT: coordinating the placement process, including scheduling interviews, managing logistics, and ensuring smooth communication between students and employers.
DATA MANAGEMENT: tracking placement statistics, student feedback, and institution trends to improve placement services.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT: organizing workshops, training sessions, and other activities to enhance students’ employability skills.
REPORTING SYSTEM: prepare quarterly report to the president and keep the HRM in the loop.
OTHER DUTIES: management will assign other roles to you in assisting with administrative work and students’ services.
Qualification/experience:
A holder of first degree in Marketing, or any discipline (Masters degree is an added
advantage)
Must exhibit high level of professionalism
Must be able to communicate effectively and fluently
Good marketing and persuasive skills
Knowledge of computer application software
Must have 4-5 years experience of working in similar role
Excellent report writing
